Registration to learn in the Gifted Children Education Program in Tauragė

The Gifted Children Education Center GIFTED at Vytautas Magnus University, in collaboration with the Tauragė District Municipality, started its activities in Tauragė in January 2024. We are pleased with the municipality's innovation and decision to pay attention to gifted children, who, like other children with special needs, have the right to be recognized and educated.

Continuing our cooperation, we expand our activities and invite those who want to learn in the Gifted Children Education Program to register for selection.

Although there are hundreds of definitions of what a gifted child is, in general, it can be said that gifted children are those who outperform their peers in mature thinking, creativity, the speed of acquiring new knowledge, often, but not necessarily, also in higher achievements. These are children who will be able to establish themselves in an undefined job market in the future, able to think critically, creatively solve problems. These are children who, when they grow up, lead the way, discover, invent, explore, etc. Today, while they are still growing and developing, we must help them because giftedness is like a muscle - it needs to be trained.

These children are often more sensitive to the environment around them, so while learning, they may experience certain challenges, such as loss of motivation due to uninteresting lessons, more anxiety due to high external expectations, a greater sense of loneliness due to their exceptional abilities, and so on. To unleash the potential of such a child, a supportive environment is needed, where teachers can nurture their curiosity and adapt teaching methods to the children's needs.

Those who want to learn in our center are invited to take a test, by the way, the same test is taken by students in Israel, and based on the test results, we see the child's generalized strengths and overall level of abilities, and invite them to attend classes. Participants of the program work with up to 5-6 different module teachers, educators, and experts throughout the school year. Psychological consultations, seminars for the parents of our center's children, camps, and training for teachers are also held.
