The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Pagramantis
In Pagramantis, the church was built in 1774 under the care of the owner of Pagramanty Manor, Bishop Jonas Lopacinskis of Samogitia.
The priest Radvilavičius is considered the first pastor and founder of the parish. During his service, the first church renovation and refurbishment works were carried out. In 1791, the renovated church was consecrated.
The wooden bell tower is mentioned in the church visitation act as early as 1792. At that time, it was transitional, with double doors on opposite facades. In the mid-19th century, the bell tower building was reconstructed.
The church courtyard was surrounded by a log fence. In 1843, a new fence made of fieldstones was built, incorporating stations of the Cross Chapel. Next to the church, behind the rectory, was the residence of the Pagramančiai manor steward, which became the rectory estate. Pagramančiai manor is mentioned in sources from 1774. During the Soviet era, the estate was nationalized and belonged to the local collective farm. At that time, new farm buildings were erected on the territory. After 1990, it was returned to the parish. The buildings from the 19th century that have survived in the estate include the rectory, barn, cellar, and residential house.
